Where exactly are the Maldives?

The Maldives is a tropical paradise located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India and Sri Lanka. It consists of over 1,000 coral islands grouped into 26 atolls, known for white sand beaches, overwater villas, and turquoise lagoons.

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to the Maldives?

Yes, a valid passport is required. It must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
Tourist visas are free and issued upon arrival for stays up to 30 days for most nationalities, including U.S. and Canadian citizens.

What airport do I fly into?

You will fly into Velana International Airport (MLE), located on Hulhulé Island near the capital city, Malé. From there, depending on the resort, you’ll take either a speedboat, domestic flight, or seaplane to your final destination.

When should I book my travel?

Once the date and resort are finalized, Brittany (our travel advisor) will share group travel options and booking instructions. We recommend booking early (6–9 months in advance) to secure the best rates and flight options.

How long should I stay?

Most guests choose to stay 3 to 7 nights, but you're welcome to stay longer and make it a full vacation! We’ll offer suggested itineraries based on wedding events and resort availability.

What is the weather like in the Maldives?

The Maldives has warm, tropical weather year-round, with average temperatures between 77–88°F (25–31°C).
The dry season (best weather) is typically November through April, while the wet season is May through October. Rain showers are usually brief.

Are children allowed at the resort?

Yes, we have chosen a family friendly resort option.

How expensive is it to travel to the Maldives?

The Maldives is considered a luxury destination, but group rates and early planning help manage costs. The room rates are very good and we estimate everyone will pay roughly $1500.

Flights are roughly $1000-1500 per person depending on where you are flying from, you can start to track flights 330 days out. Plan for approximately, $2000-3000 per person for the full trip.

Can I extend my trip or visit other destinations nearby?

Yes! You can absolutely extend your trip before or after the wedding. Some guests choose to pair the Maldives with destinations like Dubai, Sri Lanka, or Thailand. Brittany can help with add-ons and personalized extensions.

Is travel insurance required?

While not always mandatory, travel insurance is strongly recommended for international destinations like the Maldives. It protects you in case of unexpected delays, cancellations, or medical emergencies. Options will be shared during the booking process.

What should I pack for a trip to the Maldives?
